If you have an article that you’d like included in next week’s Wednesday edition, please make sure that you’ve sent it through to me by 12.00 midnight, Monday evening.
NOTE: All articles need to be Upper Hutt related. The Upper Hutt Connection is NOT a place for covering national or international events. This includes Letter to the Editor as well. Decisions from the New Zealand government that affect all citizens of New Zealand (and that means including Upper Hutt) ARE welcome. Community events that are happening in the Greater Wellington Region are also invited to be advertised in “Beyond Upper Hutt” on The Upper Hutt Connection.

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that the overnight closure on the Rimutaka Hill for the 19th of April has been cancelled – So please disregard the notice that was in this week’s Wednesday Edition.
As these things can happen so quickly at the drop of a hat, being cancelled and all that, I’ll probably just leave it up to the individual to find out about these closures in the future. I’ll just continue to share the posts on Facebook as opposed to having them published on the site.
Cheers, Ben Knowles – Editor / Operator @ The Upper Hutt Connection.

ILLNESS: Hi everyone, just to let you know that I’m taking time off from today (Wednesday 15th of April) to Monday 20th of April. It’s not as serious as the image might say, but I’ve been ill coming from stress for the past week or so, and I’m still feeling a bit grotty so I’ve decided to take it easy for the time being – I have several appointments next week so I want to be well enough then.
I’ll be checking emails probably once a day, and as usual I’ll be checking the news websites for articles each morning like I always do – but apart from that, I won’t be overdoing it.
Cheers, Ben Knowles – Editor / Operator @ The Upper Hutt Connection.

BACK TO BUSINESS AS USUAL: Hi everyone, just wanted to say a thank you to those with their messages and their support while I was unwell. Everything’s back to normal now – I’ll be continuing to keep the vitamin C as part of my daily immunity support along with the echinacea.
Cheers, Ben Knowles – Editor / Operator @ The Upper Hutt Connection.

ILLNESS UPDATE: Hi everyone, just to say that over yesterday the situation greatly improved – continually getting better, not worse. Symptoms aren’t nearly as bad. Taking both vitamin C and echinacea now – will be taking both of them afterwards too just to try to keep my immune system topped up best I can. Was only taking echincaea previously.
I’ll be taking Saturday and Sunday off this weekend to try to allow my body to fully recover. I normally do The Upper Hutt Connection on Saturday’s too unless it’s a long weekend.
Cheers, Ben Knowles – Editor / Operator @ The Upper Hutt Connection.

ILLNESS: Hi everyone, just to let you know that I’m currently suffering from a cold so things will be operating at a bit of a reduced capacity in the meantime. Might not reply to emails and put up articles as quickly as I usually do.
Cheers, Ben Knowles – Editor / Operator @ The Upper Hutt Connection.
