WEDNESDAY EDITION for the 29th of April 2026

Full Edition (with images): Wednesday Edition – 29th of April, 2026
Data-Friendly Edition (no images): Wednesday Edition – 29th of April, 2026 (data-friendly)

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know that the overnight closure on the Rimutaka Hill for the 19th of April has been cancelled – So please disregard the notice that was in this week’s Wednesday Edition.

As these things can happen so quickly at the drop of a hat, being cancelled and all that, I’ll probably just leave it up to the individual to find out about these closures in the future. I’ll just continue to share the posts on Facebook as opposed to having them published on the site.

Cheers, Ben Knowles – Editor / Operator @ The Upper Hutt Connection.

ILLNESS: Hi everyone, just to let you know that I’m taking time off from today (Wednesday 15th of April) to Monday 20th of April. It’s not as serious as the image might say, but I’ve been ill coming from stress for the past week or so, and I’m still feeling a bit grotty so I’ve decided to take it easy for the time being – I have several appointments next week so I want to be well enough then.

I’ll be checking emails probably once a day, and as usual I’ll be checking the news websites for articles each morning like I always do – but apart from that, I won’t be overdoing it.

Cheers, Ben Knowles – Editor / Operator @ The Upper Hutt Connection.

DAYLIGHT SAVING ENDS EASTER SUNDAY 5th OF APRIL

Hi everyone, just a reminder that daylight saving ends early in the morning on Easter Sunday at 3.00 am. Unless you’re the type that enjoys waking up at 3.00 am to do it, I recommend putting your clocks back one hour before heading for bed on Saturday night.

Cheers, Ben Knowles – Editor / Operator @ The Upper Hutt Connection.
