Work is underway on Chatsworth Road, in Upper Hutt!

The aging drinking water pipes that run down the street have a history of bursts and leaks, so they became a priority for renewal – which is when we replace the pipe, rather than fix the individual areas that leak.

Balancing leak repairs and renewals is one of the ways we can drive down water loss quickly, while preventing the likelihood of future leaks.

The work on Chatsworth Road will improve the resilience of the water supply, and reduce any disruption to residents – so the crew at E Carsons & Sons are excited to get stuck in!

We’ll be tackling sections of the pipe at a time, to keep disruption to a minimum. This does mean that during the works, part of Whitemans and Chatsworth Roads will be down to one lane, with traffic management in place.
