
Keith Thomas Jacques who ran a series of food vending businesses in Wellington and Auckland, and at a venue in Hamilton, has been sentenced after evading paying taxes between $200,000 and $500,000 over six years.
In a judge-alone trial, he was found guilty of 8 out of 10 charges. These included
In 2019 he was charged with:
- Filing false or misleading GST returns.
- Aiding and abetting two companies that failed to make PAYE deductions when required.
- Filing false personal tax returns.
In 2021 he was again charged with:
- Evading or trying to evade the assessment or payment of GST.
- Failing to make PAYE deductions.
- Not providing information to IRD with the intention of evading the assessment or payment of tax.
