
PEST ANIMAL CONTROL NOTICE: Kaitoke Regional Park & Pākuratahi Forest.
From early August 2025 to June 2026, pest animal control will be carried out by Supplejack Contracting in parts of Kaitoke Regional Park and Pākuratahi Forest to support OSPRI’s TB Free programme (targeting possums) and help native bush and wildlife recover – including kiwi, which are already returning to nearby areas.
Control methods include traps and bait stations containing Feratox and Brodifacoum.
What you need to know:
- Dogs must be on a leash at all times in the affected areas until further notice
- Don’t let dogs scavenge carcasses
- Don’t touch any bait stations or animal carcasses
- Follow all signs and safety instructions
