We have some big news to share about the future of our skating venue and the Upper Hutt Roller Skating Club. As many of you know, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes, and here’s what’s ahead:

Our Current Lease Ends – 31 July 2025

Our current venue will no longer be available after this date. The lease has been taken over by the business next door, and while they’re looking to run a community sports centre, they’ve let us know they can’t confirm any rink time for roller sports at this stage.

We’ll reconnect with them once they’re up and running to see what might be possible, but in the meantime…

We Have a New Home!

From 1 August 2025, the Upper Hutt Roller Skating Club will move to St Patrick’s College in Silverstream.

• KiwiSkate will continue on Tuesdays and Saturdays, no change to days or times
• The wooden gym floor is ideal for both KiwiSkate and competitive training. We’re incredibly grateful to St Pat’s for welcoming us into their space!

What About Saturday Discos?

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to run weekly discos at the new venue. BUT we are planning a few fun themed fundraising discos before we leave:

• Harry Potter Disco – 24 May
• Taylor Swift Disco – 14 June
• Final Public Disco – 12 July
• Final Club Members Disco – 19 July

Let’s go out with a bang, we’d love to see you there!

Club Move & Working Bees

We’ll be organising some working bees to help with the transition and there may be opportunities for members to repurpose or take items from the rink. Keep an eye out for more info on how you can get involved.

Fees, Fundraising & Our Future

We’re reviewing our KiwiSkate fees and may be able to offer a small reduction from Term 3, depending on numbers.

But we’re still facing significant financial challenges between now and 31 July and we need your help!
