Upper Hutt Petanque Club held its 2025 Club Singles Championship on a cold and wet Sunday the 10th August 2025. 13 members took part in 4 random rounds with Byes being awarded, followed by the top 4 playing a semi-final round, and ending with a final for the top 2. Sadly the current holder was unable to defend the trophy, due to injury.

After the qualifying and before the semi-finals, the standing was Dave Gwerder, Moises Burgos, Mary Khalil and Bob Horton, so those 4 went into the semi-finals. Dave won over Bob, and Moises won over Mary.

After the final, the result was Moises Burgos (Champion), Dave Gwerder (Runner Up) and Bob Horton (3rd). Well done to all players.

Moises willl now represent UHPC at the Champion of Champions tournament on 20th September, to be held at Otaki, where the club champions from all the clubs in the Wellington region battle over the trophy.
