Junior Club Update

Firstly, we would like to thank Jane for taking on the Junior Club Captain role in 2025 and for her two years as the club’s event manager, especially her work on the centenary. Jane has been a great contributor the UHCF community and we wish her all the very best as she steps down from her role.

With the departure of Jane Lee from the club it is great to be able to announce Aaron Colvin as the new Junior Club Captain.

Aaron has a long association with the club with both his children Daniel and Kaylee playing for the club from junior grades. His wife Linda is also a longstanding player within our women’s space as well as active contributor with her volunteering hat in coaching, managing and most recently Events Manager. Aaron has held the role of Girls Only Grade Manager for the past 2 seasons so has a strong working knowledge of the junior club as well as established relationships across the club especially with the junior grade managers and committee members. His prior experience within the junior space including managing junior teams in 2021-2023, coaching and managing the Heretaunga Junior Boys team last year and alongside his GM responsibilites this season he also managed his daughter Kaylee’s team.

Aaron will also work closely with our returning Junior Director of Coaching and Talent Development Programme Manager Jonathan Winkworth. Jonathan has a long association with the club from finishing his senior playing career with the men’s first team, to coaching in the junior and youth space. Jonathan has helped to establish the club Talent Development Programme which is now in its 5th year. Alongside coaching and assisting both in the girls and boys talent development space, Jonathan has assisted with the Men’s U19s working closely with our Men’s First Team Head Coach and UHCF Director of Football Rory Fallon.

We are excited to see the continued growth and development within our Junior and Youth space.
