Four Upper Hutt athletes selected to compete at the Oceania Track and Field Championships

4 Upper Hutt athletes have been selected to compete at the Oceania Track and Field Championships in Darwin Australia from May 18-23rd. All are members of the Upper Hutt Athletic Club.

Mylo Guthrie-Thiel is the NZ U20 high jump champion and has been selected in senior High Jump. Samasoni Hewitt is also a high jumper and will represent the Cook Islands. He recently won the Polynesian High Jump title, held concurrently with NZ Track and Field champs in Auckland. Both athletes are coached by Scott Waldrom, 

Two under 18 athletes have also been selected, Conor Sharkey in hammer throw, and Alex Ross in the Javelin. Conor is the current NZ U18 hammer throw champion, and both he and Alex train at the Solapower Throwing Academy in Lower Hutt
