Football results for the weekend: 15th / 16th of August

Big weekend across the club, with some grades closing out their season and others building momentum heading into the business end.

SENIOR MEN’S

The 1st team had the weekend off with the Chatham Cup semis taking centre stage, back home this weekend against FC Western.

The Reserves backed up last week’s form with another dominant win over Western Suburbs, finding their rhythm at the right time. The 3rds were clinical at home against Karori, and RJ’s got the job done against Miramar in a scrappy, hard fought affair.

MASTER’S

A bittersweet one, with most Masters teams wrapping up their season this weekend. Tin-Men finished on a high against Island Bay, Antiques closed out their campaign with a statement win over Western Suburbs, Marauders capped things off in style against Seatoun, and Saints went toe to toe with Karori in a draw that could have gone either way.

Thank you to every Masters player who pulled on the boots this season. The love for the game at this level says everything about what this club is built on.

WOMEN’S

The 1st team went blow for blow with Miramar in a tight affair that ended level. The Reserves had their game called off with the weather making the field unplayable. The 3rds put in a gutsy shift against Western Suburbs and came away with the win.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

U14 TDP were composed and disciplined against Olympic. The U15 Girls CDL had a tough afternoon against a strong Te Kotahitanga side, the kind of game that builds resilience. U15 TDP came up against a well drilled Karori outfit and couldn’t find their groove. The U17 TDP put on a real showcase against Onslow/North Wellington in a high scoring, entertaining contest.

A big shoutout to every coach, parent and volunteer who made the weekend possible, especially with the weather doing its best to disrupt things.

Onwards to another big weekend.
