A first and major achievement for Rimutaka Gymsports and for Upper Hutt on the world stage. Two members of the club, Kate and Ingrid, are heading to Europe this September as part of the New Zealand team to compete in Paris, France and Szombathely, Hungary. Ingrid joined Rimutaka Gymsports in 2012 and has been competing for the club for 13 years. She has represented Wellington at National Championships since 2018 and is now very excited to be the first gymnast from the club to represent New Zealand at the Senior International level. This has been the result of years of hard work and dedication from both Ingrid and the coaches who have believed in her. Kate is the coach of the senior squad at Rimutaka Gymsports and will be travelling to Hungary as a judge at the event.
Rimutaka Gymsports is a not-for-profit Gymnastics club based in Montgomery Crescent Upper Hutt. The club has been offering Gymnastics to the Upper Hutt community from babies and toddlers, school festival events, holiday programmes, through to Senior Competitive gymnasts for over 40 years. www.rimutakagymsports.nz
As gymnastics in New Zealand is largely self-funded, Rimutaka Gymsports would greatly appreciate if you could help them fundraise for the trip at the Give a Little page below.
