Went to see the new film September 5 yesterday.
September 5 is about the ABC’s news team’s coverage of the Israeli hostage situation at the Munich Olympic Games in 1972. Although it’s a drama, it comes across as very realistic. None of it came across as over the top – it all seemed as it could have happened. The hostage situation, and the shootings which occurred, were also something that the government of Germany didn’t need, as the memories of the atrocities of the Second World War were still fresh in people’s minds. Germany was showing that the Nazi era was in the past – and then this unfortunate event happened.
For the whole 90 minutes, there was never a dull moment in the film.
