Ingredients
1/2 cup sago
3 cups water
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 tsp grated lemon rind
3 tbsp golden syrup
Method
Put sago and water into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Boil gently with frequent stirrings until the sago is clear. Remove from heat.
Stir in the sugar, then add the lemon juice, rind, and golden syrup, stirring it in well.
Pour into serving dish or individual dishes. Dish is semi-liquid when warm but will solidify to a jelly-like texture when cool.
