Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 125g butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • grated cheese (I use tasty)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°c. Grease or line a baking tray.
  2. Cream the butter and icing sugar, then beat in the egg.
  3. Sift the flour and baking powder together. Add the flour, grated cheese, and cayenne pepper to the creamed mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Knead the mixture with your hands to properly mix all the ingredients.
  5. Roll the dough out thinly on a floured surface, and cut into rounds.
  6. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes, then allow to rest for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
