Pursuant to section 462 of part 26 of the Local Government Act 1974, Upper Hutt City Council gives public notice of its intention to declare the Heretaunga Drain as a public drain.

The Heretaunga Drain (the drain) travels from the Heretaunga Dam in Freyberg Road, Trentham, to a point of discharge into the Pinehaven Stream/Hulls Creek at Silverstream (see image above). More detailed information about the location and passage of the drain can be obtained by contacting Upper Hutt City Council on the phone number listed below.

A decision will be made by resolution of Council at its next meeting on 10 December 2025.

Feedback on the intention to declare the drain a public drain is invited and can be made by emailing askus@uhcc.govt.nz by 9 December.
