Over the past few months I’ve been getting to know our Remutaka electorate: visiting businesses, schools, community organisations and events, and talking with people about what matters to them.
My background is in science, education, strategy and governance. I’ve spent much of my career taking complex problems, understanding the evidence, bringing the right people together and finding practical ways forward.
That’s the approach I’d bring to the practical issues people are raising with me: access to healthcare, reliable transport and infrastructure, good jobs, safer communities, affordable housing and better opportunities for young people.
I’ve also learned that Upper Hutt, Stokes Valley, and Lower Hutt each have their own strengths and priorities. Good representation means understanding those differences and ensuring they are reflected in the decisions that affect them.
Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me, shared their experiences and trusted me with their stories. I look forward to many more conversations in the weeks ahead, and to the opportunity to earn your trust and your vote.
A “thank you” to Dr. Zabeen Lateef for sending this to The Upper Hutt Connection.
