Over several decades Grey Power New Zealand Federation as a non-party political, ‘advocacy organisation’ has earned the respect of local and central government politicians and their funded support agencies. Our ‘representation’ within our cities, districts and other territorial authorities recognises the importance of ‘localism’ and ‘age friendliness’ in achieving and maintaining the social integrity of our communities.
Upper Hutt Grey Power needs help to rebuild continuity into its contribution to community awareness and responsiveness to consultation procedures. Now that our core memberships and our local spokespeople are ageing, opportunities exist for more active retirees to contribute their energy and ‘generational’ perspectives to achieving our common aspirations for a ‘dignified’ retirement and the ‘well-being’ of our families.
Grey Power Upper Hutt Association seeks to rebuild its voluntary advocacy team so as to ensure the acquired knowledge and communication skills of individuals of either gender, having retired from full-time employment during the past decade, might more effectively encourage reasoned and ‘positively oriented’ community input to local and central government’s provision of infrastructure and public services and; the general well-being of our local community.
Have you recently exited the paid workforce and are ready to ‘give back’ to your community as a voluntary advocate for more opportunity for youth, a sustainable financial outlook for families and, dignified participation within their community for the older people of the Remutaka electorate?
We can provide an established pathway to achieving a more socially inclusive community in Upper Hutt and wider New Zealand.
This is a genuine opportunity to join a responsible and progressive organisation. Please contact us with your name and telephone number and mention your willingness to assist our executive team.
