On Saturday, 31 August 2025, representatives of the project partners along with family and friends gathered at the Haukaretu Stream Restoration Site for the Powhiri were welcomed onto the site and shown the scope of the project.
The first tree, a native Kahikatea, was planted by Forest & Bird and Te Āti Awa to commemorate the occasion.
A very enjoyable day for everyone, meeting new friends and sharing lunch in the sunshine.
