The Upper Hutt Piano Trust is thrilled to celebrate the success of today’s Scholarship Concert  Sunday 26 October , featuring the incredibly talented Amelia Lin at Whirinaki Whare Taonga.

Amelia delivered a stunning performance that wowed the audience with her skill, sensitivity, and stage presence — a true reflection of the bright future ahead for young New Zealand pianists.

We were also honoured to welcome Professor Kim Cunio, Head of Te Toki – New Zealand School of Music at Victoria University of Wellington, who gave a fascinating pre-concert talk about creativity, music, and education in Aotearoa.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, to our wonderful hosts at Whirinaki Whare Taonga, and to all those who continue to support the Trust’s mission to encourage and celebrate musical excellence in Upper Hutt.

We will be back in March 2026 when another series of Lunchtime Live starts with eight concerts  through to October by students from NZ School of Music .Keep in touch by checking out the Classical Expressions 2026 Season here https://www.whirinakiarts.org.nz/events/classical-expressions-2026/

A “thank you” to Paul Lambert for sending this article to The Upper Hutt Connection.
