The Whakawhirinaki Silvestream Pipe Bridge opened for pedestrians and cyclists on Friday the 24th of October.

Final works are being completed on Fergusson Drive before the reinstatement of the road surfaces. Traffic management is expected to remain until early November. The old pipe which runs underneath Silverstream bridge will be removed next month – this is weather dependent as the work necessary to remove the pipe needs to be accessed from the riverbed.
