Great news – works to renew the drinking water pipes along Chatsworth Road, Upper Hutt have officially wrapped up!
This helps maintain a reliable supply of safe drinking water for Chatsworth Road residents and prevent burst pipes and leaks while keeping those unexpected outages and repair costs down.
1,950 metres of new pipe laid in total from the Whitemans Road intersection to the end of Chatsworth Road, including:
- 1,240 metres of drinking water pipe (the main pipe – known as the watermain)
- 380 metres of rider main pipes (smaller pipes that connect to two or more houses)
- 330 metres of lateral house connections (pipes connecting directly into individual houses)
A big thank you to local residents for your patience during the works, we appreciate your understanding as we work to improve Upper Hutt’s water infrastructure.
Well done to the E Carsons and Sons crews, who delivered the work on the ground.
