Tiaki Wai is inviting feedback from people across Wellington, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt and Porirua to help it build the next edition of the plan to fix and improve the region’s water services. 

People are invited to fill out a short survey at haveyoursay.tiakiwai.co.nz before 4 October to rank priorities across the breadth of work Tiaki Wai is responsible for. 

“We want to hear from people about what they think we should prioritise, so we can build our work programme in a way that meets the expectations of the people we serve,” said David Ward, Tiaki Wai Chief Strategy and Planning Officer. 

“In March 2027, we will be consulting on our next Water Services Strategy, the document that sets out our work plan and proposed charges for the next 30 years, with a focus on the next decade. 

“This will cost many billions of dollars, so we’ll need to space out the work to spread the cost over many years. With your help, we’ll develop a plan for what we should focus on first.  

“To build our work programme, we’re looking at the current state of our water infrastructure, the things Parliament and our regulators have told us we have to do, and now we want to add the views of our customers and the people we serve into that mix. 

“People can take our online survey at haveyoursay.tiakiwai.co.nz. It should take less than five minutes, so we urge you to fill it out and to share it with your friends, neighbours, and colleagues so that everyone can have their say.
