The next phase of the new Whakawhirinaki Silverstream Water Bridge is set to begin

At the end of June Wellington Water will start cutting into the existing pipeline to install essential fittings, ensuring the seamless integration of new pipe sections. This operation will include pouring concrete for pipe support and welding on a new bend to connect the existing and new pipes.

The Silverstream pipeline delivers 60 million litres of water daily, serving as the primary water source for Upper Hutt, Stokes Valley, Porirua, and 40% of the Wellington City water supply.
