September is Motorcycle Awareness Month

Ride Forever / Motorcycle Awareness Month

MAM was created in response to a concerning trend spotted by Ride Forever in the 2017 crash statistics. Each September marks the return of more than half of New Zealand’s motorcyclists to the roads after winter – and with more bikes on the road comes an increased risk of crashes, injuries, ACC claims, and fatalities.

MAM is about raising awareness:

  • For riders: How to safely return to the road after a break
  • For drivers: That motorcyclists are back in greater numbers and need to be seen
  • For everyone: A celebration of New Zealand’s riding community, and a reminder to ride safe, ride smart, and build your skills with a Ride Forever course.

Wear Yellow! Yellow is the official colour of MAM, it also increases your visibility on the road.
