Hutt Valley reporter, Nicholas Boyack died suddenly on Sunday afternoon, 17th of November.

Lower Hutt mayor, Campbell Barry said Boyack “was a journalist with great integrity who cared deeply about the Hutt Valley and its people.” “For more than 30 years Nicholas reported on local issues and held successive councils to account. He will be remembered for his dedication, no-nonsense approach and his eclectic taste in shirts,”

The flag at Hutt City Council was at half-mast to acknowledge his passing.
