With just over a week to go before nominations close for this year’s local elections, potential candidates are being reminded to act now if they intend to stand.
To date, we have received one nomination for Mayor, ten for Councillors and none for Rimutaka Licensing Trust.
“If you’ve been thinking about standing, now is the time to act,” says Warwick Lampp, Upper Hutt’s Elections Officer. “There’s still time to get your nomination in, but the deadline is fast approaching.”
Nominations close at 12 noon on 1 August.
All nomination documents must be submitted by the deadline. Late submission, including those in transit, cannot be accepted.
Standing for election is your chance to represent your community and help shape the future of Upper Hutt. Whether your passion is local services, transport, community wellbeing, or climate resilience, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
