Things still haven’t improved on Alexander Road when it comes to boy racers, continuing to disturb residents of Wallaceville Estate on Friday and Saturday nights. Police and members of an action group have put forth the following ideas to deal with the continuing problem.

  • Applying an anti-slip surface to the roads, which makes it difficult to lose traction.
  • Using blockades
  • Allocating dedicated police staff to confiscate vehicles
  • Installing surveillance cameras
  • The use of drones
  • Target tyre suppliers to ensure that the tyres they’re disposing of don’t fall in to the hands of boy racers.

Police also acknowledge that not everyone who is a boy racer takes part in these activities.
