Council has this week appointed Bruce Robertson as the first Independent Chair of their Risk and Assurance Committee.

Robertson comes with a wealth of experience and is currently Independent Chair of a number of councils throughout New Zealand, including Dunedin City Council, New Plymouth District Council, South Wairarapa District Council, Kapiti Coast District Council and Gisborne District Council.

Bruce previously served as the Independent Chair of other major metro councils’ Risk and Assurance Committees including Auckland Council and Wellington City Council.

“UHCC is thrilled to have someone of Bruce’s calibre and experience be the inaugural Independent Chair of the Risk and Assurance Committee,” says Mayor Peri Zee.

“Having an Independent Risk and Assurance Chair is recommended by the Auditor General to ensure public money continues to be appropriately spent”.
