
A by-election to fill a casual vacancy on the Rimutaka Licensing Trust opens today, with nominations now being called for prospective candidates.
Anyone interested in standing must submit their completed nomination documents before 12pm, Monday 22 December 2025.

Voters who live within the Trust boundary and were enrolled for the recent triennial elections are encouraged to check and update their enrolment details at vote.nz to ensure they receive any voting materials.
A public notice will be issued by 12pm, 24 December 2025 to confirm whether voting is required.
If more than one valid nomination is received, voting will take place. If voting is required, voting papers will be delivered from 30 January 2026 to all eligible voters living in the Trust area.
Voting, if required, will close at 12pm on 3 March 2026.
The Council encourages eligible residents to stay informed and participate in the by-election process.
