Having played the DS/PSP version of Final Fantasy III before this, I found this version to be a big improvement. Probably the biggest plus is being able to BUY Phoenix Downs, secondly is that I feel that the game really is better in 2D rather than 3D. You don’t go through a dungeon with the fear that you’ve missed something. Even though it may feel that it makes things a little too easy, I do appreciate the mini map. It made the final areas much easier to navigate, and knowing that I wasn’t travelling along a long, dead end path. Only complaint that I have, and it’s rather minor, is that “Shadow Flare” was taken out when it comes to the Geomancer job class. There are other ways to deal a lot of damage, but after a fair bit of grinding, I realised that it had been taken out of this edition of the game. Overall, I’m very happy to be able to play this on my laptop.
