On Saturday, EA (Electronic Arts) re-released The Sims™ and The Sims™ 2 as part of The Sims™ 25th anniversary.

The Sims™ Legacy Collection is available on Steam for $35. This includes the base game and all the expansion packs that were released:

• and Makin’ Magic

Please note that the only real downside is that the User Interface is “very” small due to the modern resolution. Hopefully this may be updated in the future.

The Sims™ 2

The Sims™ 2 Legacy Edition is available for $50 on Steam, it includes all of the expansion and stuff packs minus the IKEA Stuff pack. Not a thing to split hairs over in my opinion – this is still great value for money.

The only issue I’ve found with the Sims 2™ Legacy Edition is that it does have a tendency to crash occasionally. Bear in mind that this could be considered an old game now, it did come out in 2004 – 21 years ago!

My advice is to simply save on a regular basis, like maybe once a day in-game time. That way, if it does crash, you haven’t lost too much progress.

I’ll close this with the most memorable line from the manual of the original game. It’s final line being “And before you know it, it’s 3.00 am YOUR TIME, and you don’t even have your teeth brushed.”
