It’s the most wonderful time of the year… Our annual Short Story Competition has just opened for entries – and you’re invited to follow wherever your imagination and creativity may take you.

• Entries close at 5.00pm on Sunday, 10 May 2026.
• Tamariki (kids), teens, and adults can take part!
• Maximum word count: 1,200
