Upper Hutt is home to a vibrant community of artists, makers and creatives, and they are opening their studios for the annual Upper Hutt Art Trail 10 and 11 October!

The annual Upper Hutt Art Trail weekend showcases the variety and diversity that the city’s art community has to offer.

It’s a chance to meet the artists, see the art, experience the creative process, ask questions, and connect.

This year there are over 60 artists across 26 locations throughout Upper Hutt, including drawing, painting, ceramics, fibre and textile art, printmaking, sculpture and more.

The Upper Hutt Art Trail is a self-guided journey of discovery – the public has the opportunity to visit artists in their studio or community ‘hubs’ 10am – 4pm both days of the trail weekend.

The website www.upperhuttarttrail.nz provides information on the artists and their work, and includes an interactive map to help create your own self-guided tour.

A printed art trail booklet is also available from New World Silverstream, Fig Tree Café, Whirinaki Whare Taonga, Dawn’s Atelier, Sugar and Spice Café, Café Blume, Thimbles and Threads – or can be picked up from any of the artist locations over the weekend.
