Creative Communities Scheme opens for funding applications: Applications close Friday 17th of April

Upper Hutt City Council

The second round of the 2025-2026 Creative Communities Scheme (CCS) is now open for applications.

We allocate this funding on behalf of Creative New Zealand and have just over $26,000 available to help fund community projects with an arts and culture focus.

For many years now, CCS funding has made a real difference to locals who have a passion for music, dance, and performing arts, as well as creative and cultural exchange.

Upper Hutt is home to a bustling arts and culture scene – there is always something on, and many shows, community events, and workshops are made possible because of CCS grants.

From photography classes for children to improv theatre for older adults and cultural showcases with shared food, these opportunities spark diverse interests and talents. They also connect people from all backgrounds through a shared sense of joy across audiences.

Do you have a project where arts and culture play the starring role? Are you planning a community event where Upper Hutt can explore, create, and learn together? Apply today!
