The Upper Hutt Spinners and Weavers are affiliated to Creative Fibre New Zealand: www.creativefibre.org.nz  Membership of Creative Fibre is optional but encouraged.

We promote all things related to wool including a wide range of techniques and crafts from spinning, dying, knitting, crochet, felting, weaving, and even narlbinding.

For several years now we have organised Capital FibreFest at Whirinaki Whare Taonga (Expressions) on the second Saturday in May each year.  Around 40 Traders bring their products for sale. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow crafters, buy gorgeous fibres, raffles, refreshments and cheap balls of fibre from our Woolly Mammoth. The proceeds from Capital FibreFest enable the Club to continue their charitable knitting etc and offer membership and classes at an affordable rate.

Membership entitles you to join in with regular special events held at the club,  learning new skills, and access to the library of books & patterns

Local classes are arranged dependent on interest. Much of the joy of being part of this club is the open sharing of knowledge that happens at all our meetings. All ages and genders welcome.

Where we meet

Upper Hutt Spinners and Weavers meet twice weekly at our club rooms in Trentham railway station building.

Tuesday mornings 9 am-12 pm

Wednesday evenings 7-9 pm

Membership / Club fees

Membership fees help cover the building rent. Membership year runs from 1 Jan – 31 Dec, with a half year membership open to new members from 1 July each year.
