Following on from our last announcement of our Code Compliance, we intend to have an Official Opening later this year, date to be confirmed. This will be an opportunity for us to invite all the people and organizations and sponsors who have helped us on our journey to establish our site at Mcleod Park and will mark 10 years since our formation in 2015.
Website
During the last few months we have had technical issues with our Website and access was very limited with loss of available data. After a great deal of work which required a complete rebuild by Steve in Technical Support, we can now advise that the Website is up and running. To make things simpler, we have re-created the site to look the same as the previous version so users will be familiar to the layout and information provided. The website can be described as “Vanilla’ but that will change.

During the next couple of months we will be adding new functionality and the ability to customise each page to appeal to a greater audience than just members. Previously, we had a few photo’s of our historical completed projects for viewing. This has been improved so we can include up to date progress on projects as well as a gallery of past achievements.
As a charity we are often approached by the public to assist with clearing out garages or disposal of pre-loved tools and equipment. These requests are unpredictable and from time to time we find ourselves in excess of donated items with little room to accommodate them. Wherever possible, we will find new homes for these items but this may take some time. To speed up the process and to avail the Community of the opportunity to own these items, we will create a dedicated page “For Sale” items.
Further improvements will be made to enhance the experience for users and make the website more user friendly and easy to navigate.

Later this month or early next month we will be having a Garage Sale. This will be advertised prior to the event and we are currently assembling items for inclusion. Earlier this year we were gifted a garage (adjacent to the bowling club building). This was on the proviso that we relocate the structure by EO year. To this end, we are getting ready for this move and also for our new engineering facility by reorganising the layout of the site. We are now preparing a concrete base for the garage and moving our two shipping containers to free up the space for our 4th building.

As a result of our recent burglaries, we determined to make our site more secure. This included installing more CCTV, erecting barriers between buildings and we are currently repairing the Council fence at our cost.
We are still on the lookout for new members. Maybe you have seen our display in the Mall which shows some of the things we do and who we do them. If you have and would like more info, contact us for a free tour and meet the team.
