Vegetable crisper not keeping things crisp? Here’s how to keep broccoli, cauliflower, and celery fresher for longer

I’m not sure how things go with your fridge but with ours, the vegetable crisper doesn’t live up to it’s name when it comes to keeping broccoli, cauliflower, and celery from not going limp and quickly becoming less and less appealing.

To keep broccoli and cauliflower fresh in the fridge, place the stalk end (trimming the stalk if necessary) in a shallow bowl of water. This will keep them fresh for up to two weeks.

As for celery, keep it in a cool place in a bucket with a couple of centimeters of water in it (we keep the bucket in the laundry tub).
