Is Facebook showing unnecessary and unwanted content every time you open it up? Does it not seem to get that you’d rather see the posts from your friends or the pages you decided to follow? I had the experience with The Upper Hutt Connection’s Facebook page a couple of weeks back, when suddenly Facebook had the bright idea that I wanted to see the posts from every city and regional council it seemed from New Zealand and Australia – which of course I don’t. I only care about local news here!

Making a quick search, I found this solution and it works very well. When you open up Facebook, click on the “Feeds” button, and it will “mostly” only show you your friends posts and any other page you actually follow or like. As soon as I started using this approach, I was soon only seeing posts from Upper Hutt City Council, Upper Hutt Community Page, etc.
