The Upper Hutt Connection is a free and independent online newspaper for the people of Upper Hutt. I try to put up new items daily, but I encourage you to send through items as well. Please contribute your items and keep The Upper Hutt Connection active.

The Upper Hutt Connection covers general news, sports, community events, gardening, recipes, gaming, and opinion pieces. If there’s another category that you’d like included, send me an email about it. I’ll be happy to consider it.

Otherwise visit the “Subscribe for free” page and send me your email address. If you don’t receive your weekly update from us, please contact me via email. I seem to have a few emails which never get through, if you are one of those few, please let me know so I can fix up your email address in the mailing list.

Just one final word when it comes to subscribing. If you have an “@xtra.co.nz” email address, could you please consider sending me an alternative email if you have one. Xtra considers any batch emails as spam, so it does make sending xtra emails a somewhat tedious process.

A bit about Ben Knowles – Editor of The Upper Hutt Connection

I was born in the mid 80’s and I’ve lived in Trentham, Upper Hutt ever since. I attended Trentham Primary School in the early to mid 90’s, Fergusson Intermediate in the late 90’s, and Upper Hutt College from the turn of the millennium to the early-mid 2000’s. Since then it’s been a search for employment, deciding in the later half of 2020 that self-employment might be a better approach.

My interests and hobbies include reading, cooking, watching films, listening to music (ranging from the 60’s through to the 90’s mostly), gaming, and developing indie games using the Rpg Maker series of software. I also have a keen interest in the environment.

A couple of notes regarding credit when submitting items

• For all articles on The Upper Hutt Connection, your first name / surname/ or initials will be included with the text e.g.
• Any photos which come from a contributor will be credited with “Contributor – Name” unless you tell me what to otherwise credit it as.

Notes on advertising

The Upper Hutt Connection offers business advertising at the cost of $1 per day. You get your own page on The Upper Hutt Connection and it can contain whatever you want. 🙂
